The article says:

"Lyons, Nov. 7 - Wayne County Sheriff Jerry Collins today appointed as deputy sheriffs Frank Marcellus, of Butler, and L. B. Seymore of Wolcott, making five deputies in all.  Cornellius Collins, of Lyons, Smith Atwood of Marion, and A. H. Huntly, of Walworth were recently appointed.

 

 

 

 

The article says:

Jerry Collins, 83, Injured in Fall Last Wednesday

     Jerry Collins, probably the most well known Sheriff in the State, having served in the Wayne County Sheriff's Office in the capacity of Deputy Sheriff and Sheriff over a period of 54 years and in this capacity winning national recognition for the capture of the notorious Oliver Curtis Perry, train robber, is confined to his home in Lyons recovering from the effects of a fall.

 
     Mr Collins slipped on a stair rug in his home at about ten o'clock last Wednesday morning.  Two head cuts were sustained in the fall.

 
     Mr. Collins is 83 years old.

Confined in the Lyons hospital, Jeremiah "Jerry" Collins, 83, Wayne County Sheriff for 50 years until his retirement a few years ago, is slowly recovereing from a fall last week when he fractured his left leg.  "Jerry" now an honoraby sheriff fell in his home and was immediately taken to the hospital.  Earlier in January, Collins sustained cuts about his head when he fell in his home.
