Deputy Post Given To Robert W. Burns

Lyons — The vacancy on the staff of Wayne County Sheriff F. John Lawrence has been filled with the filing of the appointment  as Deputy of Robert W. Burns of Newark. The new man, who succeeds Curt Voigt, who resigned a few months ago, was sworn in Monday and Immediately took over his duties.

Deputy Burns for five years was at Sampson Naval Base as a member of the Provost Marshall's guard. He also has been a member of the Newark Police Department.

Sheriff Burns is buried in the Willow (N. Main St) Cemetery in the Village of Newark
